Abstract: Using Shangluo molybdenum tailings as main raw materials, and adding potassium feldspar, kaolin and SiC as foaming agent, the lightweight thermal insulation foaming ceramics with high content of molybdenum tailings are prepared in this work. The order of four factors which impact the volume density of foaming ceramics is SiC content, heating rate, holding time and sintering temperature, respectively. The samples of lightweight thermal insulation foaming ceramics are sintered with heating rate of 8 ℃/min to 800 ℃, then 1 ℃/min to 1140 ℃ for 20 min.The volume density of the foaming ceramics is 0.34 g/cm3.The compressive strength is 3.2 MPa, and the average pore diameter is 1.8 mm.
