Abstract: Two new carboxylate-bridged 1D chain complexes, e.g.[Ln2(PAA)6]n ((PAA-=4-aminobenzoic acid anion, Ln=Tb(1),Ho(2)), have been synthesized under solvothermal conditions and characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography analysis, FT-IR,TG-DTA and elemental analysis. Results show that both complexes are isostructural 1D chains and bridged by carboxylate groups.Magnetic susceptibility of polycrystalline samples of complex 1 were carried out ousing a SQUID magnetometer. The magnetic studies indicate that complex 1 exhibits slow magnetic relaxation behavior.
