Preparation and Permeation Properties of Magnesium Slag Based Porous Ceramics Used for Filtration

Abstract: The porous ceramics were prepared using magnesium slag and flyash as raw materials .The porosity parameters , properties of sintering , mechanical and permeation were studied and the microstructure of the porous ceramics was observed .The influence of sintering temperature , molding pressure , ratio of the raw material , and additives on the properties of the porous ceramics were studied . The results show that the magnesium based porous ceramics with 90;solid waste could be prepared after holding for 4 h at 1150℃.The molding pressure affect the porosity , water absorption , and density of the porous ceramics strongly .With the ratio of magnesium slag and flyash equaled to 7:2 , the combination property of the porous ceramics is the best .The adding of carbide slag and carbon powder is able to homogenize distribution of the pore , refine diameter of the pore , and increase the porosity and the properties of gas filtration of the porous ceramics .
