Abstract: Addition of transition metal oxides in the Jun porcelain glaze could make the Jun porcelain show colorful glaze, but it also resulted in a large number of flows of glaze. In the traditional Jun porcelain, flow of glaze would bring the beauty of art. However, serious flow of glaze destroyed the artistry and quality of Jun porcelain. In order to research the effect of nano-SiO2 to the property of glaze,2wt; or 4wt; nano-SiO2 was added into the Jun porcelain glaze. The effect of adding SiO2 for the microstructure and properties of Jun porcelain glaze were studied through powder X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).The results show that adding SiO2 can improve the chemical stability and thermal stability of glaze. It also can decrease the flow of glaze and increase the brightness and quality of glaze.
