Abstract: The TmFeO3 nano powder with perovskite type adsorbed on carbon were prepared by hydrothermal method. Their specific surface area, thermal stability, absorption property and physical structure of the crystal were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), thermal gravimetric-differential thermal analyzer(TG-DTA), ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer(UV-Vis) and gas chromatograph. The photocatalytic properties of TmFeO3 powder was evaluated by degradation of methyl orange using dysprosium lamp as visible light source. The experimental results show that TmFeO3 adsorbed on carbon prepared by hydrothermal method has better crystallinity, higher thermal stability, larger specific surface area, larger visible absorption range and better absorptivity. The experimental results of photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange show that the degradation rate of TmFeO3 adsorbed on carbon methyl orange reaches 88% after light irradiation for 140 min and is 1.5 times of TmFeO3 prepared by ordinary hydrothermal method.
