Abstract: The effects of different crystal seeds of ZnO and zinc silicate on the crystal patterns in crystalline glaze were studied by the locating of crystal seed. Based on the kinetics of high temperature crystallization, the mechanisms of zinc silicate crystal growth and crystallization were discussed. The results showed that the glaze appearance of ZnO seed in zinc silicate crystalline glaze is basically the same as that of zinc silicate seed; The radius of grown zinc silicate crystal is directly proportional to soaking time; The types of crystal seeds have little influence on the growth of zinc silicate crystal in the glaze; Crystallization constant increases with the enhancement of crystallization temperatures, the corresponding crystallization constant is 1.0911, 0.9996 and 0.7177 respectively while the crystallization temperatures are in sequence of 1150 ℃,1100 ℃ and 1050 ℃; even at the same crystallization temperature, crystallization constant also varies in different soaking time phases.
