Abstract: A novel supramolecular network [Mn(phen)_2I_2] has been rationally designed and synthesized by hydrothermal method and the structure was characterized with elemental analysis, FT-IR spectrum and X-ray diffractometer. It crystallizes in the Triclinic, space group P_1~-, with a= 0.92705(19) nm,b= 1.0370 (2) nm, c=1.2775(3) nm,α=77.32(3) °, β=81.26(3)°,γ=70.30(3) °,V=1.1240(4) nm~3,Z=2. In the title compound [Mn(phen)_2I_2], the separated unit cells are constructed into a novel supramolecular network by four types of C-H…I hydrogen-bonded and two kinds of π-π interactions.
