Preparation of FeIn_2S_4 Nanoparticles in Supercritical Water

Abstract: Crystalline FeIn_2S_4 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by a simple and one-step way, using thioacetamide (TAA), trichloride iron and tetrachloride indium as raw materials,supercritical water as reaction medium.The products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The XRD results show that the obtained FeIn_2S_4 had cubic structure and a face-centered lattice. The microscopy images show that the synthesized FeIn_2S_4 particles were in sheet shape and exhibited weak agglomeration with the size ranging from 50 nm to 100 nm.
