THz and Infrared Absorption Spectra of Zn3BPO7 Crystal

Abstract: The terahertz (THz) time-domain spectra and mid-infrared to far-infrared absorption spectra of Zn3BPO7(ZBP) crystal were measured in the range of 6.6 cm-1 (0.2 THz)-4000 cm-1. The infrared optical properties of the crystal were discussed. The THz absorption spectrum shows the better transmittance properties in the range of 0.5-1.2 THz. There are overtone resonance and fundamental phonon resonance peaks in 1.7 THz and 2.5 THz, respectively. The ZBP has stable refractive index in THz region. The transmittance of the crystal is very little and nearly zero in the range of 100-2700 cm-1. There is better transmittance in mid-infrared range of 2700-4000 cm-1. The absorption features of ZBP in the range of 50-4000 cm-1 may be useful in filtering applications.
