Growth and Spectral Properties of Ho3+:La2CaB10O19 Crystals

Abstract: Ho3+ doped La2CaB10O19 crystals have been grown by top-seeded solution growth (TSSG) method. The structure of the crystal was studied by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD). The rocking curve measurement showed that the FWHM is 21.6 arcsec,indicating a high crystalline perfection. The absorption and fluorescence spectra were measured at room temperature. The Judd-Ofelt theory was applied to the evaluation of its spectral properties. The J-O parameters (Ωt,t=2,4,6), the radiative transition probabilities AJ,J', radiative lifetime τ, fluorescence branch ratios βJ and the value of integrated emission cross section were also been calculated.
