Effect of Nucleation Agent P2O5 on Crystallization of CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 Glass Ceramics from Yellow Phosphorus Furnace Slag

Abstract: The CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 (CAS) glass-ceramics were prepared by melting method using natural cooling yellow phosphorus furnace slag as main material and P2O5 as nucleation agent.The effect of P2O5 on the crystallization and properties of glass-ceramics has been studied by differential thermal analysis (DTA),X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM) and so on.The results show that the crystallization peak temperature Tp and crystallization activation energy E of yellow phosphorus furnace slag basic glass firstly increase and then decrease with the content of P2O5 increase,when the content of P2O5 is 4wt;,the crystallization activation energy E of yellow phosphorus furnace slag basic glass is minimum,the effect of crystallization and physical and chemical properties are the best.The main crystalline phase of the type is also Wollastonite (CaSiO3) with the content of P2O5 increase.At the same time,the increase of P2O5 can promote the produce of Fluorapatite (Ca5 (PO4)3F).
