Abstract: A novel dinuclear Cu~Ⅱ complex 1[Cu_4(L)·2H_2O)] ·2H_2O (H_4L = glycol - bis - (α-aminoethyl) ether N, N, N', N'-Tetraacetic acid) was obtained from self-assembly of CuCl_2·2H_2O with title ligand. The crystallzing sample was characterized by elementary analysis and IR spectrum. Its structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex shows a dinuclear copper structure, with crystal data:C2/c,a=2.0984(10) nm,b=0.7536(3) nm,c=1.3555(6)nm,α=90 °,β=90.8980(10) °,V=2.1432(16) nm 3,Z=8, R_1 = 0.0216, wR_2 = 0.0654. In title complex, each ligand chelates two different copper atoms. Local coordination geometry around copper atom can be best described as a slightly distorted pentagonal bipyramid, which connected by one N atom, two O atoms from terminal two different carboxylic group and two water molecules.
